Mission Hall Centennial Celebration 2015

On the eve of the one-hundredth anniversary of its erection, the Centre held a celebration in recognition of the restoration of the historic Glenfield Mission Hall; and its building in a single day. Present were descendants of the original architect and builders, the restoration project group, families and persons who had a close association with the building, the Staff, Executive and Governance of the Centre, invited guests including the Kaipatiki Local Board, Methodist and Anglican Church, Glenfield College, Mayfield Scouts, Kaipatiki Community Facilities Trust, and the local Member of Parliament. There were speeches, songs, stories, the unveiling of a plaque, the re-gifting of the WW1 memorial tablet, and the cutting of a cake. The next day, the Centre opened for a Market Day to mark the event of the centennial and to give the public of Glenfield the opportunity to come and view the building in all its restored glory.
